ATLANTA (WKRC) - A reported discovery of a decapitated dog on an Atlanta porch led to an hourslong SWAT standoff and criminal charges, authorities said.
Police said officers responded Wednesday to a Fulton County home after a social media post raised concerns. Responding officers found a dog’s remains on the porch along with a machete, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Authorities identified the suspect as Jalen Wade. Police said he barricaded himself inside the home, prompting a standoff that lasted several hours before SWAT officers took him into custody. No injuries were reported.
Fulton County jail records show Wade is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and misdemeanor obstruction of law enforcement officers. He was booked Feb. 12 and also faces two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to reports.

The dog’s owner, Precious Cody, told WXIA she learned what happened after a friend sent her the suspect’s Instagram page.
“A friend of mine sent me his Instagram, and when I looked at his Instagram I was like, ‘You sure this is him?’” Cody told WXIA. “She said, ‘Yeah, read the name.’ I was like, ‘Really?’”
The dog, Bambi, had been missing since September and was microchipped, according to WXIA. Animal services later notified Cody after identifying the remains.

“All I want is justice for my dog,” Cody told WXIA. “An animal is like a child, and Bambi was like my child.”

Noble has announced an independent review and policy changes following explosive allegations of a cover-up surrounding a 2023 fatal cruiser crash. A Woburn Police officer is later heard telling Trooper Cooke at the crash scene that a State Police Lieutenant is also at the hospital. Cooke responds, “I didn’t even know that.”

Within minutes of arriving at the scene, Sergeant Penton was told that Quigley had “veered over the line,” according to a statement made by the other driver to Woburn Police. Trooper Cooke responded, “just one?” when Penton acknowledged on video that she had only been assigned to investigate one previous crash for the MSP.
Sgt. Penton waited eight days to question Quigley, according to her report. She issued Quigley a written warning for a marked lanes violation after Quigley stated he couldn’t remember why he lost control of his unmarked Ford Escape. In an unrelated matter, Sgt. Penton and three other troopers were suspended with pay earlier this month after they were indicted for their alleged roles in the 2024 death of MSP recruit Enrique Delgado-Garcia at the State Police Academy in New Braintree.
