Super Bowl 58 Pregame Thread: 49ers versus Chiefs

See that's the key and why I think the Chefs win...Shanahan is going to go retarded and stop running the ball I can already feel it
I have to disagree, I cannot imagine he watched the Ravens tape and says "yeah i'll go ahead and not run the ball". I don't see it, they run a very high percentage even when they are trailing, see Lion game. They do not quit

Beers I'll buy you a beer if your prediction comes true

To add to this I haven't watched at All 22 from the 49ers either

If Tranny commits to the run the Forty Whiners will win this game. They have the better overall team.

I’m taking the easy and obvious prediction.

Chiefs win

49ers have a dozen chances to win the game but come agonizingly and inexplicably short every time. Several calls/non-calls go the Chiefs way that are border on terrible but are just plausible enough to let them slide in “the refs are human” category. Mahomes wins MVP with an underwhelming performance but makes one big (routine) throw that gets shown on every highlight reel for the rest of eternity. Swifties fly in for parade and TS flexes with Lombardi Trophy.

The silver lining is we’re all gonna die some day and there’s a decent chance this was all meaningless, our experiences are subjective, and all memories from earth are swept into great infinite nothingness of the cosmos.

Yes I was surprised that Tranny committed to the run. He tends to get away from it when trailing, but kudos to him. Now comes the big test will he keep the same philosophy or the big bad Chiefs will make him piss his pants?

I don't even think it will be a "big throw " to be honest it'll be that BS scramble for a first down to ice the game

There’s like a 0.0000001% chance the Chiefs win and someone else wins MVP.

Don't worry friend the Forty Whiners will win this game. I had the Chiefs for the longest time leading up to the game, but something is off every person I've talked to, the media, and the public money is picking the Chiefs

Kelce can win it if the 49ers defense goes full retard(which will probably happen) and leave him wide open continuously

Lol look at all the commercials Mahomes/Kelce are in,
The Swift factor
The wanting to have a new dynasty
Everything points to the Queefs

Money speaks in the end though and it's overwhelmingly Chiefs money. The sharps have bet on the 49ers

Let's see what happens but I'm not getting my hopes up. I hope what Beers said comes to fruition
Aha I don't understand this Chiefs hate you Patriots fans have. They're not a divisional rival

Fair enough points and I'm not boasting or busting chops here I'm just confident because we have the best player in the league, the best coach in the league and a defense that can carry us if the offense is off.
The Patriots in 2007 had all of that and we lost. Don't assume you're going to win this game because of that. You need a lot of luck too

I'm not going to lie I don't like that they're the only team and QB that can potentially match or surpass what we did

Everyone disses Shanahan, but he had excellent offensive gameplans in 2016 with the Falcons. They were basically unstoppable. That 2016 Patriots defense was incredibly good and they allowed 28 points thru three quarters. Shanahan basically pants’d Patricia and Belichick. The collapse happened but let’s not act like he had a poor strategy. I’ve argued many times the plays down the stretch weren’t his fault. Whiffed block by Freeman. Horrible sack taken by Ryan (Mack couldn’t block Flowers as injury took its toll.). The players collapsed.

Two wins with SF in 2019. Called excellent game versus Chiefs. One TD robbed with Kittle OPI. Garoppolo played like a moron down the stretch, missing wide open Kittle, missing Samuel.

Only other loss was with a practice squad QB last year.

I think Shanahan’s bad big game reputation is completely unfounded. As long as he has a good QB and weapons, he’s going to maximize advantages.

Thank you that's another reason why I have SF winning this game. Shanahan gets a lot of undeserved criticism. Spags is going to get spanked

Weird that the Chiefs were -3 in 2019 and the public was split as the perception was 49ers were much more talented overall but Jimmy G factor.

This time 49ers are -2, and everyone is picking the Chiefs, even though the 49ers have a QB who threw 31 TDs, 11 INTs, and was statistically better than Mahomes across the board.

I guess Chiefs defense accounts for some of this but again I think a lot of it has more to do with the false perception that the Chiefs recently leveled up and the 49ers leveled down, even though both teams have the same players and coaches they’ve had all year (and throughout most of the year, most people would say the 49ers are in a distinctly higher class than the Chiefs.)
