General chit chat and shit talk.

Nice ... very nice.

My first mid-life crisis ... Stationed in England in 2000 and bought this (not this one no pics left. Same model/year/color - 1988 S4)

I had this for a few years, bought used in 2012 and sold after I bought my first house in 2015. 2001 BMW 325ci coupe. Fun as hell to drive, very sticky to the road and the engine sound of those older ones was awesome.

My first car. I had it for 4 months or so before hydroplaning on I-95 southbound near the St. Lucie West exit, and flipping it into some trees. The cops told my parents afterward that if the tree that I had slammed into was about 8 inches or so more toward the front, I’d likely be dead. Came to upside down and had to punch my window out with the back of my left hand. After the adrenaline wore off, two pieces of glass were lodged into my left hand which was pretty cool. I could make a fist and blood would squirt out like Spider-Man thwipping a web. I also had second degree burns from the airbag deploying on my right forearm. Got a tattoo over that one to cover up the scar.

After the insurance paid out my parents, I got a more modest ‘99 Jeep Cherokee 4x4. That was a fun truck since I could go mudding in it.

I've been very fortunate. No accidents or tickets, but believe me I deserved both. I was in an accident on January 1st 1980 at around 2:30 AM but I was a passenger in the right back seat. The roads were icy and me and my friend had these 2 women we picked up and was heading back to our apartment. He was showing off and driving too fast around a corner and he lost control. I blacked out for a minute but when I recovered there was a telephone pole about 3 inches from my face. I ended up with 5 broken ribs and some stiches in my head. I spent a week in the hospital. I got a nice settlement out of it.

Picked up my Little Feat tickets today. They were only$50 each. It's a small venue, only 1,500 seats plus they're general admission so the earlier I get there the closer to the stage I'll be. What's nice too is that it's only about 15-20 minutes away. I can see myself getting nice and high before and eating some edibles before going in. I'll also have my vape pen. This will be my first concert in a while so I'm really looking forward to it. It should be fun.

Small venues are the best.

I saw Dio in 2000 at a very small club in Nottingham. Like 500 or less. Up close, great view from anywhere - more like Dio threw a party and we were invited.

Saw Dream Theater at the same place - awesome show, but they were more "professional" - no cameras and such (while Dio was all for cameras and recording).

There was a bar/club about 5 minutes from my home in Enfield Connecticut where I was reared (and we all know how painful that can be) called Shaker Park. I was able to get in there when I was 16 because I had management convinced I was 18 (which was the legal drinking age). It held like maybe 300 people. I saw some good shows there including NRBQ, Johnny Winter and Rick Derringer, J Geils, John Sebastian and others. Loved that it was only 5 minutes away, especially at closing time.

I’m looking to buy a new mattress, any recommendations?

I had a memory foam “mattress in a box” last time from Tuft and Needle. It was around $700 for a queen 8.5 years ago. I liked it a lot. Brands I’ve heard are good that I’m looking at are, Helix Nectar, Puffy, Purple, Casper

Go retro and get a waterbed.

I had a waterbed as a teen, it was fucking awesome. It was one of those "waveless" ones that had some kind of foam or something at the top on the inside.
I got my first one when they were starting to get "hot". It didn't have baffles or anything. When you sat on it you'd bounce around for a couple of minutes. It was pretty much a pain in the ass. I got my next one that had baffles so it was a lot more sturdy You didn't move too much when you sat down. I loved fucking on it!! Then again, I guess I love fucking in general.

Waterbeds are absolutely my favorite choice. And my favorites are actually the ones you hated. The waveless stuff takes away a lot of the point of having a waterbed, IMO.

Just wondering if anyone has had a pinched nerve before. I've been having this pain in my elbow for about 6-7 weeks now. It's a little sore when I'm not moving it but if I reach for something or grip a glass, it's kind of painful. It also feels pretty weak. I think it's a pinched nerve but I'm not sure. Have any of you gone through this and if so, what did you do to make it better?
