General chit chat and shit talk.

I had a tree come down in my yard last night. Crazy that I didn’t hear it or feel it… though I am pretty deaf. Even crazier that it fell right along the fence and did no damage to it or my house. Very thankful it didn’t fall over the fence and onto my neighbors house.

I've spent a good part of the day hacking the tree up with a dinky electric chainsaw.. and my body says ouch. But at least I've have some free firewood for next season.

Anything good enough to work with?

No I believe this is a Black Locust, super annoying invasive tree, lots of little ones pop up in the yard and they have sharp thorns on them when they are smallish. Should be great firewood though. The other issue is there is another, much larger one just a couple of feet from the back of my garage. It's on the border of the property with a neighbor so I'm not positive who's tree it is.. Wouldn't mind that thing getting taken down but I sure as shit can't afford it right now.

it would be really cool if insurance companies would offer some kind of incentive to homeowners to get trees like that taken down because it could prevent a future large insurance claim down the road. Good for the home owner good for the company.
