From Hate to Love

This is a tough one for me..

"But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you."

I’ve been praying specifically for my enemies a lot lately and ending them with an “Our Father,” always. Very counterintuitive and hard to reckon with, but that’s the genius of Christ’s teachings. They’re hard to understand now. Imagine hearing them back then.

This is a tough one for me..

Remember that many of the bible verses that get focused on have another verse elsewhere that runs counter. For example, while we may be told not to cuss/be verbally hostile, we have multiple incidents where Christ acts in said manner.

We are told not to judge, and we are told to judge.

Etc...
