Film, TV, Netflix, HBO, Etc. Thread

I'm going Friday night.
The director’s brother said something absolutely moronic today if you’re trying to sell the movie to 100% of the interested population - he compared Superman to immigrants.

Happy Gilmore 2 was pretty funny.. I lost count of cameo's in a matter of minutes. Everyone is in that movie. It is ridiculous and good though,

Also "Untamed" on Netflix is really good. It's a 4 part series staring Eric Bana, I'm halfway through.

My bad, it's a 6 part series, (under an hour each) and I really enjoyed it. It had a conclusive ending but apparently has done well enough for them to plan on making a second season.

The upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day is shaping up to be a big deal, with Tom Holland back as Peter Parker and some exciting names joining him. Mark Ruffalo is set to return as Bruce Banner, the Hulk, 14 years after his MCU debut in The Avengers, according to production updates.

Rumors about Ruffalo’s role had been floating around, but things only locked in once the script was finalized and filming kicked off this month in England. Also, Michael Mando is coming back as the villain Scorpion, a role he first played in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, per casting reports.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the fourth film in the MCU’s Spider-Man series, following Spider-Man: No Way Home from 2021. It’s a joint project between Columbia Pictures, Marvel Studios, and Sony Pictures Releasing, and it’s the 38th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Destin Daniel Cretton is directing, with Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers writing the script.

Alongside Holland, the movie stars Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Ruffalo, and Mando. Sony started planning this film back in August 2019 while working on No Way Home. By November 2021, producer Amy Pascal said it would kick off a new trilogy of Spider-Man films with Holland, with story work starting that December. McKenna and Sommers were confirmed as writers by February 2023, and Cretton signed on to direct in October 2024.

The title was revealed in March 2025. Filming began on August 1, 2025, in Glasgow, Scotland, under the code name Blue Oasis, with Brett Pawlak as cinematographer, according to production reports. The schedule was tweaked to fit around Holland’s work on The Odyssey. Glasgow’s city center, including Merchant City, George Square, and Trongate, is standing in for New York City, with about two weeks of shooting planned for action scenes.

Holland was pumped to film on location, saying it felt like making Homecoming again, after No Way Home was stuck on soundstages due to COVID-19 restrictions, as he shared in interviews. Set photos from Glasgow showed armored vehicles with a red demon logo, which reports linked to the Inner Demons gang from the comics, hinting that their leader, Mister Negative, might appear.

Soundstage work is set for Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England. Ruffalo’s involvement slipped out a few weeks ago when an artist on the film accidentally shared pins featuring him, per social media leaks. Mando’s return as Scorpion had been rumored for nearly two years, according to fan speculation online.

The movie is slated to hit theaters in the United States on July 31, 2026, as part of the MCU’s Phase Six. With Ruffalo’s Hulk and Mando’s Scorpion joining Holland’s Spider-Man, fans are in for a wild ride.
