Gloves and Speedo Workout, Fitness & Nutrition Thread

Those peanut butter/oat protein balls from Drake Maye's wife have become a staple in my diet. I like them because I can make a batch and get 10-12 of them and they last a while. I grab one or two for the day, and have one on the way to work. At work I'll eat a banana or apple a couple hours later. For lunch I'll have something small like chicken and rice/beans, and have another ball or a meat stick a little later. Then dinner at home after 6. I usually work a 10 hour day so that leaves little time for prep. I'm leaving the house around 7am, getting home after 6pm.

The reason I put this here is that I had lost a lot of weight from not drinking beer/alcohol. But I leveled off after 6 months or so. So now that I'm more active and eating better/smaller portions, I've continued to drop lbs.

Being lighter, and feeling better overall I've begun stretching and some exercise as well. Mostly stretching on work days since my job is pretty physical anyway. And days off I'm doing that plus core strength stuff, planks, crunches, decline situps, standing knee lifts.. and training some with weights. I have a couple of benches in my basement. One for bench press and incline, and it has the leg attachment. Plus another mini bench that I use for situps and free weight stuff. Overall i'm down 41 lbs from last May, when I was 247, now this morning 206. My goal is at least 190 by June.

Awesome work my dude, keep it up!🙌

I have constant muscle soreness from my workouts, and I wanted to see if anything could alleviate it. So I used my beta AI interactive piece on my tracker to ask it. And it said I should be stretching after I work out. Well, normally we do get short changed on that. So I thought, what the heck let me ask it for some stretches. And I did. based on my workouts that I was doing, it suggested some. it turns out that stretching for five to ten minutes after I work out has alleviated my soreness tremendously. now I make it a point to do that after any non yoga workout, I will stretch at least five minutes if not ten to fifteen, depending on how strenuous the workout was. yesterday was weights, so I gave it a full fifteen minutes. I'm still tweaking to see which stretches work best for which times and how long to do them. i hold each stretch for at least thirty seconds.

I have a torn labrum in my right shoulder, diagnosed by MRI years ago. Doc said you're to old to do anything about it (thanks doc)... That was when I was around 40. Well I finished chopping up a downed tree in my yard, and carrying all the logs to my basement, feeling pretty good about that I threw in some dead lifts followed by some low rep bench press... and now I can barely lift my right arm.. FML. I definitely reaggravated that labrum.

Well my shoulder feels mostly better, I don't think I did additional damage, just overworked it probably. It felt better after just a few days of rest.
I'm also just over a pound away from my June goal 190lbs. My fat guy clothes are way too big now, and the clothes I bought in the 220 range are loose... I'm back to a 34 waist and in between a L and XL shirt again. Feels pretty damn good!

That's got to be a great feeling,congratulations!

On Monday I hit my June goal of 190lbs. I might be hitting a plateau as I’ve been right around there all week. I think diet-wise I’m doing great, just need to up my activity level on days off. On work days I really only have time and energy for stretching and a couple minutes for planks and shoulder rehab exercises.
