As a fairly salty person I appreciate a good rant from another salty person and I figured it would be kind of cool to have a thread for random rants that amuse and entertain. The post that made me start this thread is this one. and i definitely agree with this semtiment.
I mean if I could figure out why my refrigerator needs to communicate with the appliance overlords I guess I'd think about it but the really doesn't need to be such a thing forced upon you.
I'm far from a luddite. I really like technology and it has a lot of really great applications that have made things better and easier .but I don't think we should be forced into using it in order to participate in the economy. And those places are not appliances and in many cases not automobiles.
I had the same washer and dryer for like 25 yeand now I've gone through 3 washing machines because they have these stupid freaking circuit board goes you're screwed it's like hundreds of dollars and it's like oh well I'm like 3/4 of the way to a new washing machine, I'll just get a new one .I'm sure that's the goal .the next one I buy is gonna be a plain old dial washing machine with no circuit boards in it and an agitator. If you can even get such a thing anymore.
I don't know what cockles are but this warms the cockles of my heart that 90% of these people even people who ride bikes realize what an asshole this bike rider is. Roads out by me are twisty turny and hilly with blind curves and a lot of them have speed limits of 45 to 55 miles an hour. does it stop these fucking morons from riding on them and expecting us to yield to their elitist asshole will? no it doesn't. and most of them also don't obey traffic laws. you have no way of tracking them down if they cause an accident because their vehicles are not licensed, they don't have "bike " insurance, and they don't have a license plate. as far as I'm concerned they can all fuck off because we have an extensive metropark system here that they can drive to and ride their bikes in. I am not nice to bicycle road riders when I'm on the road at all. I will roll my window down and scream at them that they're assholes when they do asshole things. I also will beep very loudly when I'm behind them because I know they hate it and I can just claim that I am warning them that I'm coming.
If we don't allow bicycles on the highway where speeds are 55 plus, why are they allowed on roads where the disparity in their speed and vehicle bulk is absolutely gigantic compared with 95% of the rest of the traffic? Why is it our responsibility as automobile drivers to take care of their lives beyond obeying the traffic laws, which I already noted they bike riders do not obey? if they don't care about their own lives why should we care more than they do?
