Bible Verses - please share

My great grandmother, who died in 1919 of the Spanish Flu at the age of 29, had this verse written on the first page of her Bible.

Be strong and of good courage;
Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed,
for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

- Joshua 1:9

"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,
and to give His life a ransom for many."
- Mark 10:45

Straight from the mouth of Jesus. A much needed lesson for us in the era of "What's in it for me?"

There's a reason why giving and serving feels so good.

No matter how bad it looks.....

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them;
for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you,
He will not leave you nor forsake you.

- Deuteronomy 31:6

For me, this is a difficult one to obey. How do you ignore what is not only the word of the Bible, but also the literal word of Jesus?

But i say to those who hear:
Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.

- Luke 6:27-28

Boy is there A LOT to take from these verses. I have been reading them over and over lately. I am relating much of the world to these words...and myself unfortunately.

Verse 3 (For a dream...) is awesome. More walk the walk, less talk the talk.

Do not be rash with your mouth,
And let not your heart utter anything hastily before God.
For God is in heaven, and you are on earth;
Therefore let your words be few.

For a dream comes through much activity,
And a fool's voice is known by his many words.

When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it;
For He has no pleasure in fools.

Pay what you have vowed--
Better not to vow than to vow and not pay.

- Ecclesiastes 5:2-5

THE ultimate question...

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life.
He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.
And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.
Do you believe this?"

- John 11:25-26

Be strong and of good courage, do not be afraid, nor be dismayed,
For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

- Joshua 1:9

@Lord Dingleberry I don't want to make a joke I'm actually serious here is this verse a innuendo ????

Matthew 26:41
New International Version
41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Matthew 26:41
New International Version

Explain. I'm missing the innuendo

A powerful metaphorical reminder...

And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees.
Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit
is cut down and thrown into the fire.

- Matthew 3:10

My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue,
but in deed and in truth.

- 1 John 3:18

Psalm 73 is a great read that questions why the wicked seem to prosper. The final two verses offer a satisfactory conclusion.

For indeed, those who are far from You shall perish;
You have destroyed all those who desert you for harlotry.
But it is good for me to draw near to God;
I have put my trust in the Lord God,
That I may declare all Your works.

- Psalm 73: 27-28

Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue
righteousness, faith, love, peace
with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

- 2 Timothy 2:22

In the end, they lose. Badly.

The Lord is slow to anger and great in power,
And will not at all acquit the wicked.

- Nahum 1:3

Fear of earthly things does not come from God. It is solely a tool of evil.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power
and of love and of a sound mind.

- 2 Timothy 1:7

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might;
For there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.

- Ecclesiastes 9:10

Blessed is the man who endures temptation;
For when he has been approved, he will receive
the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

- James 1:12
