They really had no business losing to Jake Plummer. Defense put up a good fight, but the offense couldn't do their part before the defense finally collapsed. The loss wasn't a fluke as they lost at home for a 3rd straight time between 2005-2006.
More to it than that.
They had no business losing that game.
Missed opportunity. That was a bad year for NFL teams much like 2025. Even with their poor defense, the steamroll their way into a Super Bowl win.
This was just like 2005.
Like Spagnolo in 2007, Rex found something after their 2nd meeting and knew he had to switch it up. He clogged the middle of the field and dared Tom to throw to the outside. This is where the Moss trade came back to haunt him. Rex wouldn't have taken this chance had Moss been there. Watch early games and you'll see how he cleared grand canyon sized holes for Welker, Gronk and especially Hernandez. Bill got too emotional and made a bad decision.
Like the Chiefs to the 49ers, the Tom/Bill and the Pats had the Giants in their heads.
Another unacceptable loss. Ravens were an inferior team. Talib tapping out didn't help. A healthy Gronk and Talib and they do enough to get passed the Ravens.
Even if the Pats were fully healthy, this was one of their weakest teams. They were lucky they even came back in the wind game down 24-0 in their first meeting. They put up a decent fight in Denver though.
A healthy Pats team easily beats a healthy Eagles team. Even with that said, Pats still had no business losing to the Eagles.

Not only is that stat crazy - it's simply not true. Brady did not reach the conference championship games in 2002 (missed the playoffs lol), 2005, 2009, 2010, 2019, 2021, and 2022. That's 7 years out of 21 seasons as a starter he didn't reach the AFC or NFC championship game. Therefore, he has a 67% chance of making the conference championship, not 74%.
Stop posting propaganda.
BTW, Mahomes has a 100% chance of making the AFCCG and 72% chance of making the super bowl. Now THAT is crazy.
