Interesting Bible Factoids

Adam and Eve ate an apple, right?

We don't know. The Bible just says they ate fruit from the tree.

The chapters and verses we often cite really have no biblical meaning. All 66 books are their own separate works, but none were written with chapters much less verses. Just one long work of literature.

So, if you get to heaven and tell Matthew you really appreciate 28:20, you will get a quizzical look.

Chapters and verses were created in the 1200's for easy reference for Christians.

Despite what Rome claims, Mary was not a virgin for life. Nor was she without sin.

Contrary to the common misconception, Mary and Joseph had children after Jesus. He had brothers and sisters who were mentioned in the Gospels (Mark 6:3 and Matthew 13:55 -56).

The Bible is believed to be the most stolen book every year. This is due in part to them being in almost every hotel room.

The ironic thing? The Gideons, who provide the Bibles to hotels everywhere, do not really consider them stolen. They like when someone takes one of their Bibles and will gladly replace it with another.
