The Bible and Science

The truly ignorant believe the Bible and science are incompatible. Not so. In fact, hundreds of scientific discoveries and accepted truths were actually revealed in Scrip long before man "discovered" them.


He hangs the earth on nothing. - Job 26:7


It seems obvious now, but the earth floating in space wasn't accepted fact until the 1600's. Previously, it was suspended on the back of a turtle. Or it was simply flat. The answer was there all along.

Speaking of the earth...

It is He who sits above the circle of the earth.. - Isaiah 40:22


This was written around 700 BC. The Hebrew word also translates to rounded, arched, spherical. More than 2000 years later, the earth was still flat according to the supposed experts.

The idea of quarantining the sick seems obvious. It wasn't obvious. For a long time. During the Black Death of the 1500's, people who were sick or dead were kept in the same room as the rest of the family. Evil spirits were suspected as the cause of sickness not microscopic germs unknown to science of the day.

Leviticus 13:46 taught quarantine though thousands of years earlier...

All the days he has the sore he shall be unclean. He is unclean, and he shall dwell alone; his dwelling shall be outside the camp.
