Israel - God's Covenant is NOT Over

Many, many Protestant sects believe in replacement theology. God has cancelled his covenant with Israel and granted to us, followers of Jesus. This arrogant belief is ignorant and dangerous! God does not lie! Ever! He made His promises to Israel. And the Bible is filled with examples showing that Israel is still His chosen people. God is watching how we treat His people.

This is the thread for these examples.

I am not sure how the current corrupt and evil state of Israel factors into all this, but shit on Israel at your own risk. An evil Israel government is NOTHING new in biblical history.

From Isaiah...

“For a mere moment I have forsaken you,
But with great mercies I will gather you.

With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment;
But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,”
Says the LORD, your Redeemer.

“For this is like the waters of Noah to Me;
For as I have sworn
That the waters of Noah would no longer cover the earth,
So have I sworn
That I would not be angry with you, nor rebuke you.

For the mountains shall depart
And the hills be removed,
But My kindness shall not depart from you,
Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,”
Says the LORD, who has mercy on you.

- Isaiah 54:7-10

Well, yes.

That's important, because it undercuts your opening position. In fact, depending upon how you interpret the coming of the Christ, it can be consider to completely destroy it, at least for non-converted jews.

Non-converted Jews will be doomed. Just like non-believing gentiles.

The point is that God does not lie. He stated over and over that He would restore Israel. Christ's return centers around Israel. Prophecy in Revelation tells of the conversion of hundreds of thousands of Jews in the end times.

Romans 11 makes it clear that Israel's rejection is not final.

And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.

19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.

20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

Israel's rejection had consequences.

Absolutely. But it's not final. Revelation makes that clear.

And Jesus is coming back to Jerusalem. End times will be centered around the countries turning on and attacking Israel.

Israel matters.

Logical analysis of the Bible:

"Israel" was culled (maintaining only the special remnant) and Christians were "grafted". Thus, today's Israel is not the same Israel.

And that doesn't even get into the question of Israel as territory versus Israel as a nation of humanity.

17;Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18;For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Seems odd that Jesus would be returning to Jerusalem. Never mind New Jerusalem.

"In that day" many, many Jews will turn to Christ and come back to the God of Israel.

When Jesus returns, He is returning to Jerusalem. Scriptures tell us this...IF you believe Scriptures.

He is setting up His throne in Zion. Scriptures tell us this...IF you believe the WORD.

But Israel has no role in end times.🙄 Anyone who doesn't believe Jesus is returning? I can understand why Israel is meaningless to that person.

Then they’re no longer Jews, but Christians. They may still have some Jew tendencies, however. For example, even upon converting, I doubt they’ll be the first to reach for their wallets at a group dinner and they’ll probably still have pedophilic tendencies.

They will always be Jews. The men who wrote the New Testament books were Jews. All Jews who followed Jesus. We are Gentiles who follow Jesus.

Prophecies all over the Old Testament that the God of Israel would be the God of Israel and Gentiles someday. Romans, Hebrews, and elsewhere in the New Testament state the same.

A large remnant of Israel will turn to Jesus. That's a biblical prophecy truth.

The rulers of Israel are evil now? No argument there. They were just as evil (if not moreso) for 90% of biblical history. Nothing new under the sun.

Pray for a secular and perhaps demonic Israel. God is waiting to forgive His original people. We might want to be careful how judgmental we are. I say that as one who is quite guilty of bashing Israel, as you are aware

Jewish isn’t a race. It’s a religion. When they stop believing in Judaism and begin believing in Christ, they are Christians

Semantics. The will be Jewish believers. Just like I'm a Gentile believer.

The Jewish Bible (the O.T.) is part of my Bible. And it is loaded with references to Christ. The God of Israel is my God. Just a Gentile who was adopted into belief in the Jewish God.

Believer is a better term anyway since "Christian" was a term made up by the Romans meant to be an insult.

Not really. They’ll be European, Asian, African, Hispanic, South American, etc. Christians. Just depends on where their family went during and after their diaspora. I thought you’d feel better knowing that my criticism of them or Muslims isn’t race-based. Just faith-based. There’s a reason they were God’s chosen people before Christ whilst, simultaneously, God had to routinely nerf the planet and Israel because they were misbehaving so badly.

Actually, now that I think of it, my criticism of Muslims is both faith-based and race-based. Can’t believe I’m lying in the religious board.

Back to your OG topic, though, Reverend Dingleberry (you should call yourself this to your clergy by the way), God’s covenant with them most definitely is not over. When He makes a promise, He doesn’t break it. That’s Lucifer’s business. They’ll bend the knee when God gives Jesus the all clear.

I will never accept a title like that. "Elder" is a church title in the apostles' early church. That's the only one I'll be ok with.

You wouldn’t be old enough to be an elder down here, so forgive me. Did you give that sermon a listen?

Elder doesn't mean old, you knucklehead. Elder is a church member who is willing and able to teach the congregation. A pastor is just one of the Elders.
