i went on a cleanse for a month in jan 22 and i found it hard to stick to because i like to eat. granted you are on high protein and are doing it for different reasons. but are you really satisfied with that little food? the cleanse i was on limited/eliminated food for the most part. i said to the woman how the hell do you work out while on this? and she said i had to cut down/eliminate working out. i was like yeah...no. i just ate some lean protein or eggs most days.
Oh yeah, surely what I’ve been doing recently won’t be sustainable long term. It’s basically batshit crazy but cravings and hunger are weird things. I’m just glad to be in a temporary little nook where it works for a little while.
Ups and downs, back to eating a lot, binge eating, etc, like a roller coaster, it is inevitable. I look at it now like a pro sports team and a win/loss record. Gonna have streaks, slumps…just always try and focus on winning each day. When you lose, you get to play another game to turn it around tomorrow.
I’ve tried a lot of different things. Here is what I’ve broken it down to in a hierarchy…keep in mind what I’m doing (recomp / building muscle in a calorie deficit isn’t everyone’s goal):
1. Eat enough protein (for so many reasons)
2. Eat enough so you’re not causing yourself to suffer
3. Eat the lowest amount of calories you can while meeting the first two points
4. If you failed today, don’t worry because, since you’re exercising, you’re are being used to build stronger muscles and fibers. Tomorrow it all resets and you can focus on the fat burning again. You didn’t waste anything, whereas if you don’t get enough protein, you have wasted your effort.
