It is a very rare and endangered race, living in the deserts of Algeria, Libya, Tunisia and the Arabian Gulf. It does not mate with other breeds, it is a "purebred" cat. It hunts at night and waits in its nest during the day. Its main food is rodents, insects, reptiles, bluebirds and poisonous snakes. The way it hunts surprised biologists.
