The Coca-Cola Company said it is discontinuing Minute Maid’s cans of frozen orange juice concentrate in the U.S. and Canada.
The iconic, slush-filled tubes of orange juice concentrate, which have been around for 80 years, sit in the freezer section of most supermarkets, where they’ve waited patiently to be used for party punches, smoothies and Orange Juliuses — but not for long.
“We are discontinuing our frozen products and exiting the frozen can category in response to shifting consumer preferences,” a Coca-Cola spokesperson said. “With the juice category growing strongly, we’re focusing on products that better match what our consumers want. Frozen products will be discontinued in Q1 2026, with in-store inventory available while supplies last.”
So, if you’re feeling nostalgic, you have until April to grab a few ice-cold cans for old times’ sake...

Every week, Juleon Cotillon and his girlfriend Jeanette Garibay visit Costco. They shop the bulk items, but they also enjoy one of the warehouse store’s iconic meals — the $1.50 hot dog and soda combo. However, there’s a conundrum: Cotillon says it’s hard to score a table and even harder to eat a snappy link with a soda while perusing the aisles because you need both hands. So, the local pastry chef came up with a creative solution.
Cotillon, a Bay Area native who lives in Hayward, is the brains behind the Buck Fifty — a white plastic tray for both the hot dog and soda that fits neatly on the top rack of a Costco shopping cart.
“We go there once or twice a week and we usually get a hot dog or a pizza or a chicken bake,” explained Cotillon, who works as the pastry chef at El Tio Juan, Garibay’s family business. “But there’s nowhere to put our drinks or food, like if there’s no tables available. I realized that people needed this.”...

...A recent study estimated that there could be enough lithium inside a giant slab of limestone rock, known as the Smackover Formation, to meet the entire global demand for electric cars in 2030 nine times over.
Using DLE, miners will soon be able to pull out lithium-rich saltwater from underground reservoirs in Arkansas, filter out the minerals, and return the processed groundwater to the Earth within 24 hours.
The 2024 estimate of 19 million tons of lithium in the Smackover Formation would be enough to erase the nation’s current dependence on China, which controls roughly 70 percent of the world’s lithium supply.
Katherine Knierim from the US Geological Survey (USGS) said: ‘We estimate there is enough dissolved lithium present in that region to replace US imports of lithium and more.’...
Pizza Hut is planning to close 250 US locations across the US in the first half of 2026 as the pizza chain's parent company is considering a sell-off of the classic pizza chain. Currently, there are around 6,000 Pizza Hut locations around the US.
Yum Brands, the parent company of Pizza Hut, said on Wednesday that it is looking to eliminate those Pizza Hut locations that have been underperforming. The parent company has also been conducting a formal review for the options for the pizza chain, as the restaurant has been a struggling brand for multiple years.
During an earning call on February 4, the Yum Brands Chief Financial Officer Ranjith Roy said the move was part of "Hut Forward," which is a strategy that includes “vibrant marketing, modernization of technology, and franchise agreements."...
Shame. From salad bars and actual dining to zero-flavor cardboard and hoodrats.Letting your product quality decline, while jacking up prices and sucking all the soul and humanity from your locations, is sometimes not a winning restaurant strategy. Who woulda thunk it?
