We know the saying, you are what you eat? Jesus tells us that our soul is what we take in thru our eyes. Pornography. Vulgariity. Materialism. All earthly idols. What you consume that is not of God will darken your soul.

No self-righteousness. The only finger I am pointing is at myself.

While we are on the topic, I’ll steer it back a bit with some stuff that I’ve been tossing around my mind in the 3 years or so since I’ve returned to Christianity. I used to think of watching porn/jerking off as cheat prevention, and maybe it is if used correctly, but the Bible teaches us to flee that sin. In growing, I’ve discovered that, especially as a marriage ages, the jerk-free streaks that @Lord Guts embarks upon make you desire your wife more. It’s counterintuitive until you really hammer away at the logic, but maybe there were times when it wasn’t that way. Where that was just common sense because men weren’t as distracted and, thus, had more time to think and ponder.

I guess if you jerk off to your wife, but then your marriage is already over at that point. The last time I jerked off to the thought of my wife was when I first met her and the couple of weeks it took me to get in there. She’s right there. I can just fuck her most of the time. Anyway, the eye covets, so of course porn is evil. Unfortunately, for me, I have no real weaknesses except for women. Hard to avoid that, but I’ve been doing much better of late on the porn front. All I can do is try to get a little bit better every day and trust Him with the rest.
