First:

We loved Him because He first loved us. - 1 Peter 4:19

God knew you and loved you before the beginning of time. Loving Him is a choice that will have eternal consequences for you.

We are commanded by Jesus:

"You shall love the LORD with all your heart, with all your soul,
With all your mind, and with all your strength." -
Mark 12:30

And how do you love God? Jesus again has the answer:

"If you love Me, obey Me." - John 14:15

And there it is! Obedience. What does that mean? There are a lot of "Christians" in the world. There are far fewer obedient Christians. Examine yourself. Often.

Apologize for the my faults, thank Him for saving my wretched soul, ask Him to be patient with me, and thank Him for the gifts while acknowledging that he’s my pops in the sky and that J.C. is my brother. End every prayer with, “I love you both.”

I accept the fact I am a flawed human. I try to do what is right. When I fail, I try to make up for it.
