Superbowl 60 Patriots vs Seahags Discussion

“February 3, 2026 – NBC News’ Tom Llamas will sit down with President Donald Trump for a one-on-one exclusive interview at the White House tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4. A portion of the wide-ranging interview will air on NBC Nightly News with Tom Llamas at 6:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. CT, and an extended version will stream on Top Story with Tom Llamas on NBC News NOW at 7 p.m. ET.

A separate segment of the interview – a Super Bowl-week tradition – will air exclusively during NBC’s Super Bowl LX Pregame Show on Sunday, February 8.”

The Super Bowl finally takes place on Sunday. The NFL season will end in Santa Clara, California. The Seattle Seahawks will play the New England Patriots at Levi’s Stadium. Fans from both sides expect an exciting and emotional game.

Very few people expected these two teams to reach the Super Bowl. Both Seattle and New England started the season with low expectations. That changed as the season went on. The Seahawks earned the No. 1 seed in the NFC. The Patriots battled their way to the No. 2 seed in the AFC. Now both teams are just one win away from the Lombardi Trophy.

ESPN experts think they know who will win. A large group of analysts shared their predictions this week. Most of them picked Seattle to win the championship.

ESPN Panel Strongly Favors Seahawks

ESPN asked 58 football experts to predict the Super Bowl winner. Most of them picked the Seattle Seahawks. Forty-eight experts chose Seattle, while only 10 picked the New England Patriots.

That means about 83 percent of the panel supports Seattle. Seahawks fans will feel confident seeing those numbers, but Patriots fans may not like them.

Many experts also predicted the Super Bowl final score. The most common guess was Seattle winning 27-17. Four analysts chose that exact score. Even with the heavy support for Seattle, several experts still expect a close game. Thirty-five voters think the game will be decided by seven points or less.

Sports betting odds also favor Seattle. Las Vegas lists the Seahawks as 4.5-point favorites. The team enters the game playing well and carrying strong momentum.

The panel also predicted the Super Bowl MVP. Twenty-two experts picked Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold. Nineteen selected wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Patriots quarterback Drake Maye received six votes.

Overall, analysts believe Seattle has the stronger team right now. Still, the Patriots feel motivated to prove people wrong. Predictions do not decide games. The result will be decided on the field when both teams compete for the championship.

The New England Patriots are leaving no stone unturned in their pursuit of glory. They will face the No. 1 defense in the NFL this season in Sunday's Super Bowl, and they know they will have to be nearly flawless to get the job done on Feb. 8.

That's why head coach Mike Vrabel and his coaching staff may have an ace up their sleeve. More than that, that's also why they're being as tight-lipped and secretive as possible with their plans. At least, that's what we can get from Mike Reiss' latest report.

According to the renowned ESPN NFL insider, the Patriots will have 'bonus' practice sessions at Stanford. These sessions, which will be roughly 90 minutes, won't be open to any members of the media.

The Patriots Secrecy During Practices Could Lead to Trickeration

"Inside media stuff: While not changing the macaroni is a Patriots theme, it truly is a whole different recipe for beat reporters at the Super Bowl," Reiss shared. "No viewing of practice. No open session in locker room before/after. On Wednesday, one pool reporter attends, and relays a report."

While it's not unusual to see a team do its best to keep everything in-house, this curious and unorthodox approach is certainly interesting. Clearly, Vrabel wants to use the element of surprise against the Seattle Seahawks' elite defense. Or, at the very least, make Seattle's defensive coaches think that the possibility is real.

The Patriots have been on the wrong end of trick plays on football's biggest stage more times than they'd like to admit. Perhaps Vrabel has drawn some inspiration from Doug Pederson and the Philadelphia Eagles and is looking to cook up a 'New England Special' of his own.

The big game has often come down to the wire, and it certainly won't hurt to have a couple of tricks up your sleeve, if necessary, to help the underdog Patriots shock the world. Whatever the case, the fans and the media may only find that out on Feb. 8, if ever.

The Seahawks are slightly favored entering this matchup, and Drake Maye's injury situation may not be severe, but it is still worth monitoring. Still, if the Patriots lose for any reason, it certainly won't be because of a lack of preparation or because Coach Vrabel didn't go the extra mile.

That's yet another example of how hiring the right guy for the job can turn a franchise around almost overnight. Of course, the improved roster helped quite a bit, but Vrabel deserves all the credit in the world for the culture he's rebuilt in Foxboro.

I probably asked 30 people in the Bay Area, who they think will win and every single person has said Seattle. Most of them seem like drones who know little about football but thinks Seattle is like the 1992 dream team.

I’ve challenged some of them just asking why they think Seattle is so good and pointed out that if this point spread had been made a few weeks ago, it would probably be something like Seattle minus one. The perception is insane. Despite that their offenses and defenses are similar on paper. There’s this idea that Seattle’s momentum is going to carry over and they’re just going to mop the floor with the Patriots.

Patriots are gonna win this game. I’ve seen this story before.

Drake Maye will be able to hurt the Seahawks deep. This defense is very overrated. Virtually every time they've had to play against a good offense/QB, they've been shredded mercilessly, and have given up big pass plays. Will Campbell's performance against Houston is also greatly exaggerated. Anyone would struggle with those edge rushers. He dominated Bonitto in the AFCCG, and Seattle's edge rushers aren't anything special.

And Mike Vrabel will not let Sam Darnold have success against our defense. Vrabel's defenses (his entire career) have given up 15.6 PPG in the postseason, and he's coached against Brady, twice against Lamar, Mahomes, Burrow, Herbert, etc. Get pressure on Darnold and he will see ghosts. He's still garbage under pressure.

Most people are retarded and/or have Patriots PTSD, which is why they've talked themselves into believing that the Seahawks will win by blowout.

I think the Pats win by double digits

  • Seattle beat the team that was being pushed as the best team in the game.
  • Seattle plays in what was perceived to be the tougher conference.
  • Seattle plays in what was probably the best division.
  • Seattle's QB has been significantly outplaying New England's QB in the playoffs, and most people think the NE QB is much more the key to that team's success than the Seattle QB is to that team.
  • New England's offensive line, particularly the left side of it, has been struggling throughout the playoffs

So it's reasonable for people to be picking Seattle.

Just to follow up here, about the "easy schedule" argument, because I'm tired of hearing it used as justification for the argument that strength of schedule is some clear proof of comparative Patriots luck:

  • The Patriots did better against common opponents
  • For all the talk about the Patriots easy playoff road, the Seahawks only had 2 games, both at home, and one was against a 49ers team that was a M*A*S*H unit when they played.

Everyone is judging New England on their Drake Maye blizzard games and apparently forgot the steady offensive performances that made him an MVP favorite.

Not even sure what fucking season these retards were watching.

The same ESPN retards that picked against the 7th seed Bucs almost every game, then afterwards said, “well of course with that team.”

I like Rich Eisen’s show a little, there’s a couple that are alright, but the 2nd string 5~6 man panels of randos are fucking awful.

A ticker should run along the bottom of the screen while Ryan Clark is babbling his bullshit about The Patriots, “Tom Brady dominated Ryan Clark for 8 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, and a 110.4 passer rating. As you can see, he’s been mad ever since.”

No... They're noting that he's been mostly ass in the playoffs. That's not the same thing.

It’s honestly so fucking funny seeing these teams still rise and fall around the Patriots and Chiefs and now Patriots again lol (and maybe Chiefs again lol)

Winning all those games Josh Allen blew is what separates a great quarterback from a footnote/guy great quarterbacks beat.

If Drake hangs a 7th banner, gets a ring, and wins MVP, Bills fans will have a terrible fucking day. I’m a thousand percent here for it.
