SPRINGVILLE, Ind. (WKRC) - An all-out brawl at an Indiana mobile home reportedly involved ax and vape throwing, as well as biting.
According to WXIN, citing a probable cause affidavit, law enforcement and EMS responded to a home on Popcorn Road in Springville, Indiana, after receiving two 911 calls regarding an individual who had been stabbed at around 2:30 p.m. on February 26.
Per the report, six people were in the mobile home at the time, and several required medical treatment.
When speaking to a woman identified in the report as 25-year-old Mercedes Collins, who said she lives at the home with her boyfriend, 30-year-old Brandon Gibson, she stated that her boyfriend's biological mother, 54-year-old Jeanette Keel, and 60-year-old Jeffrey Davis had "basically just moved into the residence" and were attempting to evict them.
Collins told authorities that an argument escalated when Keel allegedly threw a covered ax at her, which Collins claimed hit her below the hairline, resulting in a small gash and bleeding, per the report. Collins then reportedly stated that she reacted by throwing a vape pen at Keel before she began struggling with her for the ax, WXIN reported. She then stated that Davis picked her up and "body slammed" her, the outlet reported.
Medics at the scene determined that Keel had suffered a cut on her middle finger that would require stitches. Gibson's mother further stated that Collins had bitten her right armpit while they were fighting and that she had thrown an object that struck her by the left eye, further stating that she had recorded the incident on her mobile device, according to the report.
Court docs reviewed by WXIN reportedly indicate that Davis and Gibson had suffered various injuries, including knife wounds, while fighting each other, though their accounts of who had the knife differed. According to WXIN, Davis was hospitalized after experiencing heart problems following the fight.
A fifth individual told police he had gotten pushed to the ground during the incident, then got a baseball bat after Davis cut Gibson with a knife, while Davis claimed the man had struck him in the back of the head with a bat.
A sixth individual said he was inside a bedroom and didn't see the fight and was the only individual who was not injured, according to the outlet.
