He's had a very good camp, he just hasn't been with the 1's because there are too many guys above him on the depth chart. He's a stubbed toe away from getting starting reps

From all the CLNS guys who watch practice every day. He reportedly took a half dozen snaps with the 1st team today and was one of the few players on offense that looked good.

Today's irrelevant to the discussion of what was happening up until this past exhibition game, though. He was doing nothing in training camp prior to this weekend's beating of the stiffs, and that's what was being reported.

He’s an undersized rookie, so you keep him for his intangibles. That explosiveness in and out of cuts makes him a great candidate to earn a roster spot on ST alone. Then, see if you can develop him into something more. Having another Welker, even if he’s a Great Value Welker, would be nice as FUCK.

Schottenheimer cutting Welker is one of the great "Oh, fuck, what did I do?" roster moves of all time.
But nothing I've seen, or heard, about this kid gets me anywhere near that.
