Patriots news

I think it's pretty safe to say Wolf in charge of things was a disaster. A dead monkey with no brains could've picked Maye. Last years draft was a disaster.. It looks pretty clear (I know it's early) this years class is full of hits.

I was about to give you an Agree until your last sentence.

Bledsoe doesn't get enough credit for how he handled 2001. As much as he hated the situation after he was cleared to play, he didn't let it get in the way. Even with him coming in to secure the AFCCG, but still siting for 36, he had Tom's back.

Absolute pro.
He doesn’t get enough credit for a lot of things. A Top 40 QB of all time, which isn’t too shabby considering how many thousands have come through the league. He did handle Brady with a lot of grace. A worse character might have derailed the season by splitting the locker room.

He does a lot of media when asked, and puts up with retelling the story of it all as long as they plug his winery.

He was also tough as nails. I was only a teenager in the 90’s so don’t remember what kind of talent we had on the line, but I do remember watching the games at my buddy’s house and seeing him always get the absolute shit kicked out of him.

He had a right to be pissed that he went through it building that team and then got benched for the 6th round draft pick.

His grace really ended up helping his overall legacy, too, because, if he did act like an absolute diva and cancer, with Tom going on to become the GOAT, he wouldn’t look great in NFL history, but instead he does.

Bledsoe gets too much praise.

He had all the physical talent but no signs of drive and being a true student of the game. Got by on physical skills while staring down and throwing to a TE being triple covered. A statue in the pocket but it was always the OL fault according to simplistic fans. Rewatch the 2001 AFCCG and recall the couple of ill fated throws that almost pissed that game away.

Bledsoe was fine but Top 40? I don't think so. He was the perfect tease. Talented enough to be decent, but never improved on that.

He was upset that he didn't get his job back? For a 6th rounder? And we praise him for not being too petulant about it? Screw that. I thought we celebrated meritocracy. Bledsoe sucked in 2000 and sucked in the first games of 2001. Brady was the better QB, and it was obvious. Maybe if Bledsoe worked on his craft and obsessed over being an elite QB, he would have earned his job back.

Parcells and Bledsoe salvaged the franchise. Fine. Wonderful. They served an important purpose. Let's not hoist either one on too high a pedestal. One was an excellent coach who tanked a SB. The other was an average QB with a big arm.

Not if you compare it to the 11 wins a lot of compliant sheeple on PatsFags are predicting.

Homerville is not where you go to get neutral predictions.

And weren't you one of those who recommended patience while waiting for Wolf & Groh to be fired...?

Not sure what you mean by that. I was worried about Mayo from the very first press conference, and made that clear here, and I was also worried about the "new" rating system being imposed by Wolf.

And Groh and Wolf are still around.

He’s 25th all time in passing yards with 251 Touchdowns. He did suck in 2000 and wasn’t showing a lot in 2001 (I was team-Brady from the leap, probably mostly just to be contrarian at first), but top 40/50 all time isn’t that poorly placed IMO.

Also, you probably can’t count more than 30 quarterbacks that were true super-solid, definitive, franchise-quarterbacks. You could probably get through a top 20 all time, then things are going to get real sloppy and subjective real fast.

I mean, Russel Wilson could be the 30th best NFL Quarterback of all time by straight data

Longevity. A lengthy run of mediocrity.

But you pose a good question. Would I place 40 QB's before Bledsoe? I am going to let you know once I try to do so. I'm not sure the answer, but I think I'll find 40 pretty easily. Could be wrong though.

Eli is 11th in all time touchdowns and 11th all time in yards. But I was told by members of this forum that he sucked.

Now do interceptions and W/L ratio

Id' rather do head to head vs Brady. Eli's 3-2 all time and 2-0 in the postseason. The so-called "Greatest of All Time" was owned by a "bum."

You do realize that statement harms our argument, right?

You're effectively saying "We got this one, so nothing else matters." And you're also saying this one stat overrides the fleet of Ryder's arriving with all the other accomplishments in Brady's career.

I give Eli his due because I value post-season play. Way tougher defenses, way more competent teams, competently coached teams, disciplined teams, high do-or-die pressure atmosphere.

I probably think Flacco is better than most for same reasons.

But, this dude talks ludicrous shit about Tom Brady when literally the only reason Eli deserves to be in the Hall of Fame is because of the name on the losing sideline for both his Super Bowl Wins.

If Eli got two Super Bowl rings on Big Ben, also a soon-to-be 1st ballot Hall of Famer, in games where the Steelers didn’t play up to their reputation, nobody would give a fuck.

Eli beats Rodgers multiple times. Nobody gives a shit. Nobody even mentions his name when talking about Eli. His claim to fame is he got two David versus Goliath upset stories on Brady. Good for him

Eli fucking sucks, career .500 QB, led the league in INT's THREE TIMES. threw 241 career picks, got hot at the right time on a good team twice. But was otherwise a shit QB. And he has that stupid fucking face. He shouldn't sniff the HOF but because he played on a NY team he'll get in just like Namath who is the shittiest player in the hall.

Edit: my bad 244 career int's

Then what does that say about Brady who couldn't beat him in the super bowl twice? Maybe that he's overrated? Kind of feeds into my argument that I've been making this whole time. Thank you.

Remember that 1987 1st Round game where Wade Wilson and the Vikings beat the 13-2 49ers? That made 3 CONSECUTIVE 1st round choke exits for Montana.😂😂😂😂😂

Maybe if he could muster a single playoff win in those seasons, he would have made more than a pathetic 4 SB's.

Wade fucking Wilson.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
