So I now have the new automated score working (mostly), azure has some issues but the functions in SQL all work and display correctly. Which has been monumental process to tackle for me as I have zero sql experience. However, because I had to change the formula up a bit for not wanting to webscrape any longer and use APIs. One of the things in the new model formula (i.e. where the confidence score comes from for the original model) is not available via API, so I had to develop my own version to replace it so it changed the new model methadology slightly. I will display that outcome in a seperate post along with a new feature I worked on as well.

My apologies for the neglect gentlemen. Saying I have been busy with work and then the picker automation in Azure is an understatement. I have spent more time than I care to admit, building out an Azure SQL backend and functions app. Note not having any SQL experience that would be worth noting. But after many, many, many trials and tribulations over the past 15 days or so I have nearly conquered. I putting the final touch on the output display as I type this. Hopefully I will have tonight's picks up shortly. I am through the roof with the new system. Bye bye excel! Hello Happiness.

Again not ready for primetime having table display issues. But this is sneak peak before 9pm. Notice the total column is not displaying correctly and its a bit scrunched due to it pumping out the results table versus the prediction table. I am close though.

After a long battle with code issues, gemremelins etc I finally have the automated process in place. I have to give it a once over with the results table for the win loss results and records table. But it is fully working on the daily picks. Just in time too there was still about 10 minutes left on the clock in the second half of the championship game. So it will be fully functional next season.
Now I started the NBA version tonight. And in about hour I am at where I was in about three days with the NCAA picker. I have all the hard shit in place now especially the pickers basic logic of how to know which plays are which. Much easier to build that logic in Excel than SQL. Glad to taught Shamlock's basketball ratings has Houston and Florida 1 & 2 in the rankings since I created it on March 29th. It did pick Houston to win but Florida to cover with the point. It has Houston winning by 0.56. rambling on here. Anyway the NBA picker will require some tweaking to the SBR rating system and at a minimum looking at the model to look for discrepancies between the NBA and college. My goal is to have this one ready by the playoffs.
As long as I can have one day where I wake up and something that was working when I went to bed is not broke. It's like Gremlins live in the devil's world and fuck with your shit at night.

Well...how 'bout several months. But what if it ends up being impressive? I plan on being back in the next two weeks. However some of it will be BETA ...no..no ..not PETA you special people. I am working on something I was placing arbitrary dates on and then realized that was fucking dumb! Like BBQ its ready when its ready. Did I mention I used to own a BBQ restaurant? I want to give a sneak peak but feal as though its giving it away.
