BB Not voted into the HOF

I wouldn’t have voted for Belichick, but not for the reasons that you might think. The Chiefs voter actually gave a breakdown of why he didn’t vote for Belichick. It was because there were five or six names and you could only vote for three. They included guys like Roger Craig, Ken Anderson, Robert Kraft. There is also a factor of some of these guys losing ballot status next year if they didn’t get enough votes. So this wasn’t just some kind of top to bottom vote. It was a little more complicated. I respect that he explained his reasoning and said he wasn’t voting against Belichick. He was just voting within the guidelines on what he thought was the vote. Sounds like this was probably the case with quite a few few of these ballots that omitted him. I think you should just vote for the person you think is most deserving but that’s another story.

The reason I wouldn’t vote for him is because he’s mixed in with players and I would’ve voted for all the players before I vote for a coach. That’s just the way that I see things and I’ve been kind of consistent about this.

Coaches should have a different process from players. Belichick should be in the Hall of Fame obviously.

meanwhile, anyone who is putting a divider between first ballot or not first ballot should lose whatever platform they have and definitely any Hall of Fame voter should be stripped of voting in the future. That is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard and it has never made any sense in any sport. If you think someone is worthy, you vote for them. If you don’t, then don’t vote for them the next year either. For actual voters, this demonstrates their arrogance in thinking they have some kind of a special power when all they are supposed to do is be objective in evaluating someone’s candidacy.

His reasoning was so bad that he should lose his vote.

Ken Anderson belongs in the Hall of Fame. Belichick was next to Roger Craig, Ken Anderson, LC, Greenwood, and Robert Kraft. This is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen. A coach and owner can’t be compared to a player. It’s already difficult enough since they’re all at different positions but now you’re literally not even doing the same functions and trying to power rank one off of each other.

Well, I do give him credit for at least admitting that he didn’t vote for Belichick. I suspect that he didn’t vote for Belichick out of pettiness like most of them, but then is trying to reverse engineer his decision to make it sound better. If it turns out, it’s all a bunch of rival teams then you can throw all of this supposed reasoning out the window.

yea but unfortunately they dont care, this was all about being able to say 5-10 years from now that BB wasnt a first ballot HoFer.. which is reserved for the GOATs throughout NFL history

the damage has been done, even if he's getting his praise and has people coming to his defense... they arent going to change their minds or reverse the decision, they got their pound of flesh
