Not a happy pet post, unfortunately:

A San Francisco Democrat has resigned in disgrace after dozens of dead animals were found dead in a freezer at a pet shop she used to run.

Democrat Isabella 'Beya' Alcaraz has resigned as San Francisco's District 4 supervisor after just one week on the job, after Mayor Daniel Lurie asked for her resignation following the horrifying discovery at her pet store.

Alcaraz ran The Animal Connection, a Sunset District pet store, before entering city government as a supervisor...

...Baran claimed that she found dozens of dead rodents, cages crusted with rodent urine, and the property was filled with mounds of trash. By all accounts, it appears that Alcaraz wasn't just an irresponsible pet owner; she was a serial abuser.

Images from the shop show extensive rodent nests and decaying carcasses inside the store. A freezer was also "filled with dozens of deceased pets," including lizards and guinea pigs...
