The Miss Maine pageant is garnering significant attention this year as it welcomes its first transgender contestant, and Jordon Hudson has the unfortunate task of having to compete against them.
Bill Belichicks’ 24-year-old girlfriend will compete in the Miss Maine USA Beauty Pageant in May. Hudson finished as the first runner-up in last year’s contest.
The 24-year-old, who finished as the first runner-up in last year’s competition, finally announced last week that she would be taking part again.
“As the daughter of displaced fishermen, I care to use my voice to protect the fleeting tradition and heritage of Maine fishing families, to prevent others from going through the same plight as what mine had to go through,” Hudson wrote on Instagram.
One of Jordon Hudson’s competitors will be trans model Isabelle St. Cyr. The model will become the first openly trans competitor in the event’s history after being crowned the winner of Miss Monson, the pageant in her Maine town.
Hudson having to face off against a transgender comes with Donald Trump’s administration locked in a legal battle as his administration sued Maine for not complying with the government’s push to ban transgender athletes in girls and women’s sports.
Trump campaigned against the participation of transgender athletes in sports in his 2024 race, and he wasted no time signing executive orders to do that.
The orders are being challenged in court.
