Celtics just traded Simons for Nikola Vucevic

From the vantage of someone who has not followed them this season, I like this trade for the Celtics because this team needs Big men; and while Vucevic won't be part of the long-term future, he should still help their near-term future, whatever that is... Losing Simons still hurts, though; too bad they couldn't have pawned-off one of their useless white-bread stiffs instead of him.

I was surprised by it. I though Simons was going to be a salary dump to get under the cap and do a full reset.

To me, it's just rearranging chairs, unless Tatum comes back this season.
 
Sadly you may be right. Kristap trade is so underwhelming


Make the playoffs with him healthy and you've got some potential. But Kristaps is about as brittle as they come, outside of Robert Williams.
