From the vantage of someone who has not followed them this season, I like this trade for the Celtics because this team needs Big men; and while Vucevic won't be part of the long-term future, he should still help their near-term future, whatever that is... Losing Simons still hurts, though; too bad they couldn't have pawned-off one of their useless white-bread stiffs instead of him.

I was surprised by it. I though Simons was going to be a salary dump to get under the cap and do a full reset.

So they did go for the reset, then. It's what was expected. Props to Brad for finding a way to do it while getting the big (Vucevic) for Simon, instead of that having been a straight dump.

Make the playoffs with him healthy and you've got some potential. But Kristaps is about as brittle as they come, outside of Robert Williams.
