GameDay Discussion
Wtf is with this officiating. The challenge was the wrong one, so now you decide to have a challenge on the official's own initiative to overturn a call on the field?

I thought he had the first, it's a cunt hair away if not.. But no measurement.

They really need to go back to the old ways with replay. Heck, I'd be thrilled if they got rid of it entirely.

The original idea, which at least had decent reasoning behind it, was to correct egregious mistakes, not to check down to the millimeter.

I didn't hear that was replay assist. That was the official saying "I'm going to take this opportunity to re-review the call on the field."

Officials can do that on their own initiative?

When you're looking at a challenge, you aren't limited to the exact wording of the challenge nowadays. So you can challenge a catch and they can still look at ball placement.

The officiating has been suspiciously biased since betting has taken a bigger role in the overall game. I’d be interested to see how often the team with the worse record in an evenly-matched game like this wins. If they’re rigging games out of greed, they won’t be able to resist the ML bets.
