Anyone here done Tai Chi?

My grandmother used to take a community college class every semester. A wise woman…it kept her mind sharp and she connected with people.

We have 5 community colleges around here and tuition is basically free. Looking to do something involving light fitness activity. Some of the options are Aikido, Tai Chi, Archery, Yoga, Pilates, Kickboxing (which I’ll probably do next year when I’m in better shape.)

I’m leaning towards Tai Chi even though it isn’t a real martial art. Anyone had any experience with it?

i don't but i have a friend who takes it. she is 68 y.o. and it is a senior level class. i think it is one of those disciplines that all ages can patricipate in without huge modifications. she loves it. she's not "fit" but she loves staying active. she takes it 2-3 x/week. it focuses on breath a lot.
i love yoga and pilates. also i do barre, which men don't typically do but i find great for those small muscles that i have trouble working otherwise.

No I do Brazilian jiu-jitsu
I am curious about Tai chi

I liked the class a lot. Will definitely continue with it. Mostly talked about the Tai Chi philosophy and did some of the basics with stances and movements.

Community college people are really friendly and down to earth; most of them were 40+ (I’m 41.) Good investment of $50 for the class, though I could have even gotten that waived.
