A lot of people say quarterbacks make their biggest jump from year one to year 2, but I think year 2 to year 3 is even bigger. after year 2, they have a lot of tape on you. if you don't get better post haste and flush out all of your bad tendencies, you're gonna get eaten up.
The offense needs some serious adjusting, either in terms of the racial construction or the scheme. It was abundantly clear that the receivers were not able to read what the defense was doing on Sunday, and throughout most of the postseason. They were not on the same page as Maye.
If you are going to run this sort of offense that requires the receivers to have a brain, you need to get some high caliber white WRs/TEs, like we had with Edelman, Amendola, and Gronk.
If you are going to continue relying on black receivers, you need to make the offense less complex.
I am inclined to go with the second option, because finding talented white receivers is difficult. Any team that already has one will hold on to them for dear life, because they are so valuable.
Go get AJ Brown, and then simplify this offense. Drake Maye is talented enough that we don't have to win with scheme alone. Just get him some weapons, improve his protection, and let him sling the ball all over the field.
