I remember before my first was born, Tunescribe asked me how I could bring a child into this world in good conscience. I responded by telling him that life is a gift and he’s a weak ass excuse for a man.

The show did a great job with that scene, Jesus flipping tables and bringing out the whip. I love when he calls out the Pharisees to their faces too.

I read and re-read those scenes in the gospels often. They are like porn for the Christian.

Pharisees are everywhere still.

Not sure if you guys have felt this happening or not, but God has been raising up these types of Christians again. Men who didn’t grow up in the church or, if they did, spent a while lost in the proverbial wilderness. Men who are prepared to both die and kill on His command.

The problem is that many who claim to hear the voice of God are really hearing the voice of the devil. Satan speaks and opens doors to us. Trap doors.

Only the truly strong in faith can be trusted to "hear" God, and even then, discernment is a must.

Great scene.

One thing about "Hosanna" is that its modern day equivalent might be the snake flag "Don't tread on me." Hosanna was a cry out to be freed or delivered. It was as much (maybe more) about hatred of Rome than love of Jesus. Many were loving the Jesus they THOUGHT they deserved, one who would destroy Rome. When they got the Jesus we really needed (freedom and deliverance from sin), many of those cheering and shouting Hosanna were the same people shouting, "Crucify him!"

We are a pathetic species in many ways.

Plato predicted that a perfectly moral man (Jesus) would be reviled and killed in his time. He was right. For Jesus, loving us must be like loving a child who is a drug addict.
