MIAMI, Fla. (WKRC) - A Costco customer allegedly attacked another woman for trying to get her membership revoked, but did not realize the woman happened to be carrying around an ax.

According to information from the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office obtained by WPLG, 29-year-old Valeria Andrea Aguilar was at a gas station connected to a Costco location when she began "screaming at other patrons," including the station attendant. During Aguilar's outburst, the victim reportedly arrived and pulled up close to the woman, telling the "gas station attendant to revoke [Aguilar's] Costco membership."

Aguilar became "upset" with the woman's comment and started chasing her car on foot, and eventually in her own vehicle, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by Law&Crime. The chase ended at an intersection roughly half a mile away, at which point Aguilar allegedly grabbed the victim through her driver's side window and punched her in the head, WPLG reported.

After the initial attack, Aguilar reportedly "grabbed the victim's clothing and scratched her face, arms and chest." The victim told authorities she was in fear for her life, and grabbed a nearby "ax/multitool" that she used to defend herself against Aguilar. The defense was reportedly enough to allow her to escape.

Aguilar was hospitalized after the confrontation, and was subsequently charged with burglary with assault or battery.
