Patty Mahomes GOAT

Problem is what made Kermit , Kermit were those gay scrambles and backyard football plays that only he could make. Now hes going to have to play from the pocket which I dont think he can read defenses as good as the great pocket passers
đź’Ż That's the issue - style of play and also Brady's ridiculous committment to his body. Patty has been packing on the pounds the last couple of years which has made him slower and less elusive.

When your beloved franchise quarterback reaches All-Time Top X lists so early on in their careers, it makes the legacy blows/misses that might follow all the more painful. NFL playoff losses are the worst, but with a franchise quarterback playing legacy-games, it adds a thick layer of pain most fan bases aren’t fortunate enough to understand.

Nobody can empathize with you like New England.

Fortunately, it isn’t how you start, it’s how you finish. Mahomes could come screaming back two seasons from now with a fully healed ACL/whatever else, defeat someone in a Classic for a 4th Super Bowl ring, and near universally be considered the 3rd best QB of all time, and widely considered the 2nd best QB of all time.

When the Patriots lost the 2nd time to the Giants, it stung arguably more than losing the undefeated season, because if that’s how it ended, with two losses to Eli, that would have been a huge legacy blow for Brady in comparison to his legacy potential. At the time it was our football world imploding into a Black Hole.

Then he had an epic comeback against an All-Time Legion of Boom defense, won arguably the most epic NFL game of all time down 28-3 against the Falcons, beat the Rams, then won a 7th with a new fucking team his first year.

I don’t even think or care about those Giant losses anymore.
I know you are trying to make PM15 feel better but Brady is 1:1

Chiefs run has come to a stop for now. Reid is going to call it day soon. Kelce may feel pressure to keep playing so his relationship with Taylor Swift stays relevant, but I think he'd done. It wouldn't shock me if the engagement is suddenly called off after he retires.

They have to do a major reset this offseason and pray Mahomes can come back even 75% of what he was for in 2026. If I was them I would do everything in my power to pry Mac Jones from the Niners.

we could handle Chris Jones contract.. they think he'd only generate a 3rd rounder because of his salary

add him to the line with Barmore and Williams... look out!

not sure how many years left on his deal tho, he's starting to hit the wall but he's still got some elite play in him

Eh, he is on the decline.

Eh, he is on the decline.

i agree, but probly has 1-2 years left in him.. not sure how many are left on his contract

with Barmore and Williams, he wouldnt even need to play 100% of the snaps

The deal technically runs through 2028 but, after next season, he becomes a base salary guy, so he could be cut loose at any time, or the deal could be renegotiated:

ah wow, so basically a 1 year rental with option to extend into 2027/2028, and we have some of the most cap space in 2026 in NFL

Oh the sheer unfiltered ecstasy surging through every fiber of my being right now is beyond words. Watching Patrick Mahomes go down with that knee absolutely exploding, ACL torn to shreds in one perfect crunch of divine payback, has flooded me with a euphoria I haven't felt in years. All those annoying comeback miracles, the constant ref bailouts, the endless hype... gone in an instant. Pure bliss, man. My soul is dancing, my heart is soaring, this is the sweetest football justice I've ever tasted and I'm soaking in every second of it. What a beautiful day to be alive.

Hey man,
Such a great post. LOL I think you will really enjoy this thread that was posted on Chiefs Planet this week. Also if the Pats don't get to the SB, I am rooting hard for you guys to repeat to add more salt to the wound. The only other team that would make that fanbase cry more is if Denver won it. So here's to a Denver/Eagles SB!

Chiefs fans don't exist. Just a bunch of fake bandwagoners since 2018

Mahomo is the reason why the Chiefs are even eliminated in the first place. If he played better they would be in
MaGOAT was the only reason we won 6 games to begin with. You see the trash he has to work with? Reid has also gotten out of touch

Stop. That team had talent. Don't embarrass yourself.

Instead, look on the bright side of a bad situation. This might be just what that Mahomes, and the team, needed. Despite all the media ballwashing, Mahomes has been a declining player for years (unlike Brady, who's mid-career dips, such as they were, completely tracked 1:1 with the Patriots teams being at their worst, such as 2009 and 2013) and, if you're lucky, this might light a fire under his ass and get him back on track. If nothing else, having to bust his ass for rehab should get him into better shape than he's been the past couple of seasons.

i think he's following the same path as a lot of mobile QBs.. able to improvise doing sandlot football magic, but as injuries and age pile on, the special physical traits he leaned on during his 20's start to erode and he's forced to play more as a true quarterback in the pocket and struggles

he has plenty of talent at the skill positions, more than Brady had for most of his career, but he was lacking in offensive line talent and they'll need to seriously fix that

we've been in the same situation, but fortunately it looks like we drafted Campbell and Wilson to solidify the left side of our line for the next 5+ years, but need to add a few more young talents to replace the aging vets like Moses and Bradberry.. for offensive talent, Treveon Henderson is elite and Kyle Williams has a ton of upside potential for young talent.. Boutte has been really developing into a consistent weapon for Maye but his contract is up soon and not sure if they extend.. Diggs has been great, but we'll see how this legal shit plays out

you're basically where the patriots were 2 years ago minus the massive need at QB... but we also didnt have our hall of fame TE anymore, or any hall of fame talent on defense like Chris Jones
