This one should be a comfortable win, but you never know with the NFL in 2025 where most teams are simultaneously good and bad at the same time. Has to be a dream come true for sports books, but a nightmare for bettors. The Tits don’t do much of anything well.

The New England Patriots improved to a 4-2 record with a 25-19 win at New Orleans. The Patriots have now won two of their three straight road games with the win against the Saints coming after the 23-20 win at Buffalo. The Patriots will be on the road for the third straight week when they travel to Tennessee to face the Titans. The Patriots have won three consecutive games played on the road two other times in team history. In 1961, the Patriots finished the year with a 3-0 record in three straight road games and then the team won three straight road games in the 1985 postseason en route to their first ever Super Bowl.
The teams have played 46 times in regular season and postseason play since the two charter members of the American Football League began play in 1960. The Patriots and Oilers played twice each year from 1960-1969 in the AFL and have played 26 times since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970. In those 26 post-merger games, the Patriots have a 16-10 record, including a 2-2 mark in playoff games.

RETURN TO MUSIC CITY
Patriots Head Coach Mike Vrabel will make his return to Nashville for the first time since being their head coach from 2018-23. Vrabel was 54-45 for a .545 win percentage with the team, winning back-to-back AFC South titles in 2020 and 2021. In 1961, the Patriots won their final three games on the road, and then in 1985, the Patriots won three straight postseason games played on the road en route to their first Super Bowl appearance. The Patriots have had 24 previous instances of three or more consecutive games on the road in a single season, including the postseason.
- With a win this Sunday at Tennessee, the Patriots will improve to a 4-0 record on the road. Drake Maye needs to win the Super Bowl this year. He’s the only guy from last years draft still on the team, so the team isn’t perfect, but a 23 year old Tom Brady would win the Super Bowl with this team. Peyton Manning would finish this year 13-4 / 14-3 with this team.
If he’s gonna’ be a baller there’s no reason not to win it all. Super Bowl winning Quarterbacks basically win their first Super Bowl 100% of the time when nobody is expecting them too. Mahomes might have been expected in the 2019 season, but that’s because he came out of nowhere in the 2018 season and lasted into overtime of the AFC Championship against the GOAT Tom Brady.
There was still a very real coming out party that blindsided everyone and made the ability to play football when things get epic a tangible quality and not September theoreticals.
Postponing expectations until there’s more pieces in place is for the Phillip Rivers of the world.
Pats need to basically sweep this remaining schedule, beat someone at home, go retire Rodgers in Pittsburgh, then go win the Super Bowl.
