Probably for the same reason that a garbage team like the Chiefs was the SB favorite until very recently. Past success and entirely useless metrics like DVOA that favor them. Patriots are better top to bottom. This will be a bad beatdown.

My sympathies go out to them. It's fucking terrible losing a child.
Some perfectly valid reasons:
- Patriots are due for a loss
- Patriots didn't really beat the Bills the last time, as much as Buffalo didn't show up and gave the game away
- Patriots have been giving up good games on the ground lately, and that feeds into the Bills' strength
- Bills have been bad defensively against the run, but the Patriots have been terrible running the ball, even against the worst rushing defenses
- Buffalo wasn't expecting to see the Drake Maye they got. Buffalo was expecting week 1-3 Drake Maye. They'll be better prepared this time
