You don't draft your quarterback for a single season return, so why would his needing a little bit of time make him unfit to be taken #3?
To put it another way, If you re-drafted the Brady draft knowing all that's known now, and insisted that Brady would sit out year one again, every single person in the world would still take Brady at #1 overall.
The G.O.A.T. sat a year. The latest challenger to the G.O.A.T. sat a year. Yet you guys keep insisting that sitting shouldn't happen. It's as if you're all constantly hitting the pipe when it comes to this issue.
To be honest I’ve always agreed with Deus on just sitting Drake and developing him for next season, I just contrarian his posts on the topic because I also don’t want to watch Jacoby.
We should have just unleashed the Zappe Attack on everyone this season.
This offseason this team needs to do everything possible to build a quality offensive line. Like seriously draft 6 if we need to.. We have one star player, and 2 or 3 decent prospects and that's it.

I'm not a Zappe guy, in the slightest, but once they knew that Milton was not a viable option (so something like day 2) they should have made sure that they had a veteran backup for the season, in order to avoid having to speed up their Maye development plans due to any Brissett injury.

I think Andrews has said that he wants to come back (though I may have misunderstood). Meanwhile, Mayo was talking about him becoming a coach in the future.
So conflicting notes hitting my brain pan on this.
And this season's disaster could have been avoided, or at least minimized, if they'd just gotten the OLT and WR1 in this year's free agency.
Edit: Here's what I was talking about with Andrews wanting to return:
...Head coach Jerod Mayo confirmed the surgery Wednesday morning and said Andrews will likely be placed on IR in the near future. New England's longtime team captain was reportedly open to playing through the injury as long as it didn't mean he'd miss time in 2025, according to Mark Daniels of MassLive.
Dolphins edge rusher Jaelan Phillips shared some bad news on his Instagram account Wednesday.
Phillips hurt his knee in Monday night’s loss to the Titans and he announced that he will miss the rest of the season as a result. Phillips did not share the specifics of the injury, but wrote that he will be having reconstructive surgery as a result...
...According to a source, guard Cole Strange is on track to return to the Patriots this season. The former starting left guard is currently on the physically unable-to-perform list after suffering a torn patellar tendon last season.
Although his timeline is dependent on his recovery, a source said Strange is still expected to return and play for the Patriots later this season...
Alex Van Pelt noticed an immediate change at Patriots practice on Wednesday.
That’s because as soon as the music started, Kendrick Bourne started dancing. The Patriots veteran receiver practiced this week for the first time since suffering a torn ACL last season.
“Man, the energy, the juice – you felt that immediately,” Van Pelt said. “Practice was different when he stepped on the field. The way that he carries himself, the energy that he plays with. It’ll be huge for us in the receiver room.”...
This is what happens when your starting QB could be outplayed by literally anyone in the stands, while you keep an elite QB on the bench for no reason.
