With Vrabel set to miss Day 3 of the 2026 NFL draft to deal with his personal matters, ESPN host Mike Greenberg grilled Goodell on why the league isn’t punishing Vrabel given the horrible optics of the situation.

“I’m going to ask you about the situation with Mike Vrabel and the Patriots,” Greenberg said, according to the Daily Mail. “He has announced that he will not be with the team on Saturday. He’ll be instead with his family and plans to seek counseling. The league has suggested that this is not a violation of the personal conduct policy.

“I want to make sure that I’m getting that exactly right. As of this point, based on what you know right now, this does not feel like a situation for the league to become involved in?”

Goodell replied: “No, this is not a personal conduct policy, as we know it today. It’s a personal matter, and we’ll leave it at that.”

Greenberg pushed further.

“Is that the kind of thing that typically you would talk with a team about?” he asked. “The Patriots seem to be handling that. I think a lot of fans would be wondering what, if any role, the NFL would have with something like that.”

“I think the teams handle these matters when they’re personal matters,” Goodell explained. “And they have a lot more information that can benefit everyone involved.”

Cheating on your spouse is not a personal conduct matter, beating the shit of your spouse is..

What if the counseling is related to some kind of thing like alcohol abuse? I seem to remember goodel's N. F. L punishing an assistant coach because he was on some kind of steroids for some medical condition he had. Wade wilson maybe.

I don't think that's it, he just got caught cheating and is trying to "do the right thing" for his family. The team and the league should have no involvement in this whatsoever. He didn't commit a crime.

Report: Hart and Stevens fired after shining light on Mike Vrabel scandal

Boston Radio Station WEEI is parting ways with longtime co-hosts Andy “Jumbo” Hart and Nick “Fitzy,” Stevens
according to multiple reports
.
The outspoken duo has been covering the Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini scandal closely since it broke two weeks ago. A reason for their departures isn't yet known. However it's worth noting that another Boston Radio personality,
Scott Zolak recently insinuated he might lose his job if he spoke about the Vrabel - Russini scandal
.

The Left eating their own... This is what happens when you engage in Badspeak without express, written authority.

the reports on x were that he's been in constant phone contact all day with the draft room.So what kind of counseling could that be? I think that the whole counseling thing is probably a bullshit fake.

No he's not.

Hate to break it to you PatsFags, but Caleb Lomu wasn't drafted - at the Very expensive cost of a precious 4th-round draft pick I might add - to be our starting RIGHT Tackle...

Campbell was drafted even higher.
