Patriots news

@Deus Irae if we ever meet I expect you to greet me in this totally socially acceptable manner:

That would involve contact (and they're doing it wrong). I avoid the contact. Hell, I just had the friend of a family member walk up and shake my hand, and I'm still unhappy about that.

Easily the biggest story of the offseason is the pictures of Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel. The senior NFL insider for The Athletic has been in the news due to controversy surrounding photos of her with the New England Patriots head coach.

Page Six published photos of Russini and Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel at a hotel resort in Sedona, Arizona. It highlighted them as more than just friends, despite them being married to other people. The photos showed them holding hands, hugging, and spending time together in a hot tub area. Soon after the photos went viral, Vrabel said it was nothing more than “a completely innocent interaction.”

Because both are married to other people, the photos led to widespread online speculation regarding an affair. If these two were active athletes, the story would be covered by other major sporting outlets. However, many of them have remained silent.

The most notable one is the Worldwide Leader in Sports. ESPN hasn’t said a word.

On X, an account, @yalltitanup, wrote the truth about EPN has remained quiet and the truth about Dianna Russini.
“It has been two full days and every football account on the internet is talking about the Russini and Vrabel story while the worldwide leader in sports has not published a single word,” the account wrote.

“Someone in Bristol made that call. Given that Russini represents exactly the kind of uncontrollable outside voice that threatens everything they have built with the NFL, that silence needs to be examined.”

The account then spoke about Russini tweeting about AJ Brown’s unhappiness and his desire to go to the Patriots. Her reporting would get community noted for being inaccurate, and Adam Schefter even distanced himself from it.

“What keeps getting buried is that Russini covered the Titans for ESPN starting in 2018. The same year, Vrabel was hired as Tennessee’s head coach. Eight years in each other’s orbit. When you know that, the direction of her AJ Brown reporting stops looking like a coincidence and starts looking like a pipeline straight to New England.”
“Here is what this is actually about. Russini is a disruptor. She operates outside the ESPN and NFL structure entirely and her reporting does not just cover outcomes, it influences them. Her AJ Brown coverage moved markets and created pressure on front offices without anyone’s permission. ESPN is locked into billions in broadcast rights with the NFL, and they are functionally the same institution at this point. The Athletic built its entire reputation on not playing that access game. Russini’s sourcing was personal and relational, and nobody could manage or predict it. To ESPN and the NFL, that is not a reporter operating independently. That is a threat that needed to be handled.”

To sum it up, the account states that, “ESPN does not ignore stories. ESPN buries them. And when they do it this cleanly, you already know whose interests they are protecting.”

It has been days now, and nothing has come from them. That leads you to believe that they won’t be touching this story at all.

WE HAVE PICTURES THAT PROVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ILLEGAL OR IMMORAL! WHY HASN'T ESPN WEIGHED IN ON THEM?

as sketchy as it looks, I'm not sure why its such a big story in the sports world

even if they were fucking each other's brains out in full bondage, with Vrabel choking her and Russini smearing a giant shit all over his chest.... who cares? Its not illegal or against the rules, its just immoral. The only people affected by that would be their spouses which has nothing to do with football

Draft is like 2 weeks away, shouldn't be this desperate to stay relevant in NFL media coverage right now

if they're screwing each other, that's between them and their spouses.
The issue is if she was manipulating her position to create problems for teams with the kind of things she was saying or if the a j brown thing that some of it came from, her was supposed to benefit vrabel at the expense of the eagles.

i don't think that even matters

reporters, insiders, journalists etc peddle bullshit all the time and have colluded with team owners, players, coaches and agents for decades to push narratives

They're fucking each other; and she's manipulating other teams' personnel strategies because of it. This is already bigger than CameraPlacementGate, DefameGate and BountyGate COMBINED.
