What’s-his-face, that mousey-looking mother fucker on ESPN, said it best: “If the Patriots can beat the Bills in their own house in prime time, who can’t they beat?”
Not much to choose from on the UFA side:It's a bummer so many RB's across the league have gone down, thinning out the depth for other teams and giving the Pats less PS-stealing or trade options. Even some of the backups, early down types have gotten hurt, making the problem even worse. While Gibson was a depth piece, and change of pace RB, he was at least explosive, with good size/speed combo... plus the special teams value.
Baring a surprise trade for a vet like Kamara, Henry, or a much cheaper Ford.. I think they are stuck with Jennings off the PS, Hasty who could plug and play most of Gibson's workload and already knows the system, or another PS type who would have a huge learning curve. My gut tells me Hasty will be back if he wants to play.
I'd kick the tires on Foreman, if Moss hadn't ruined his neck he'd be interesting.. but I think he might be done
I think the 1a or 1b quality will be pass protection. A Bolden type back (excellent pass pro, decent run and catch) would be just fine.I'd kick the tires on Foreman, if Moss hadn't ruined his neck he'd be interesting.. but I think he might be done
I don't think pass-pro is a strength of Foreman, he's more of a bruiser, early down guy for sure. I'd put him on the practice squad as an emergency early down back.I think the 1a or 1b quality will be pass protection. A Bolden type back (excellent pass pro, decent run and catch) would be just fine.
They did make a move and tryouts..
