As long as he's still got the speed to keep the DBs honest, and the stamina to do it for enough plays that it matters, it'll be a help to Allen. And I've been told that the speed is still there.

They've got a bye week in the next 4 weeks, which means that IR would be for at least 5 weeks. If this is "just" the MCL sprain, putting him on IR might result in him needlessly missing that 4th game (MCLs are sometimes good to go within that 4 week window).

Not only did Lowe have to suffer through the worst coaching in NFL history last season, but he also played the final 9 games of the season with a torn labrum.

He will hold up well until Campbell returns.
