Patriots news

The problem with Jakobi is he's aging and wants a new contract. While he's a solid player and certainly raises the "floor" of the WR group. He's also not an explosive player and doesn't do anything for the ceiling of the group. If you have him on the field you are potentially taking off a guy like Pop and Williams. And again, you have to pay him while you already paid Diggs. I am not opposed to adding him but you already have a crowded meh level WR room. The issue with flipping Dugger is the contract and age. He's probably more valuable to the Pats, and they should keep him for this year to provide depth and hope he continues to build off last week.

Just to note:

Jakobi Meyers had zero drops last year, a fact highlighted by Raiders.com in June 2025, noting it was a first for him in his career. He achieved this while playing in his first season with the Las Vegas Raiders and finishing with over 1,000 receiving yards.

No doubt he's a solid player. I can honestly go either way on the move. I just don't see it as a huge positive for this team.
