That’s why I didn’t bet any real scratch this week. I hadn’t had a good first two weeks so took this one off. I’m glad I did, too. All would have been losers except for one (Rams over Niners).

It’s been hard. The NFL season is drunk. Who saw the Saints starting the season like that? I didn’t bet any real money last week and am thinking about sitting this week out too.

Yeah.... I've got some games I might like this weekend, but the season's already been so wonky that there's no way I'd play anything before getting at least the Saturday injury updates, if not the actual game day inactive list just before the games.

Jets, Steelers, Eagles, Texans, Detroit all interest me against the spread

Chiefs and Titans have me at least thinking "what if" about injury lists (i.e. Herbert's ankle)



Most of the other games I'd avoid like the plague.

I didn’t take Steelers since I think they’re a Paper Tiger bound to get exposed. I agree on the rest. I tend not to bet on the 4:00 games until I’m reasonably sure of the outcome of the 1:00 games. Ditto for SNF and MNF.

Normally, I'd be worried about the Steelers, too, because I'm not buying into the RB playing QB. But the Colts have a couple of defenders out this week. So, to me, the #1 question is whether the Steelers will keep their lanes as they blitz, in order to keep Richardson, another RB playing QB, from getting free. And my bet would be that Watt & Co. can stay disciplined enough to get the job done.

Just took the Eagles off the list. DeVonta Smith has been ruled out, and A.J. Brown's still dealing with his injury and might miss another game.
