The 2026
NFL schedule will likely have plenty of more games than fans are used to watching. After another successful campaign in 2025, which included a record seven international games and the third iteration of the Black Friday game.
Roger Goodell plans to raise the stakes in the upcoming season. The schedule is still two months away from its release, but the recent rumors may excite fans. The international games will go up to nine, with the addition of the
first NFL game in Australia, Rio de Janeiro hosting the Dallas Cowboys after Sao Paulo hosted the first two Brazil games.
Additionally, the
San Francisco 49ers will return to Mexico City and the
New Orleans Saints will play in Paris, France. Having a wider broadcast window became a main focus of the league in 2025, and it will take things to the next level in the upcoming season.

Eric Fisher of Front Office Sports reported on Thursday that
the league is planning several moves for the upcoming season. Moving the Seattle Seahawks game to a Wednesday slot is on the cards. Expanding the
traditional Thanksgiving lineup is also a possibility with a game on Thanksgiving Eve.
The potential expansion of the NFL schedule could see the league have games on every day of the week except Tuesday. The Christmas Day game will continue for the third consecutive season.
Something to keep in mind is that this year’s calendar will not allow early-season Friday games.
