Revisiting the Parsons trade..

I would say theuy ended up with two of the top five DTs.

Historically speaking, this is practically a Cowboys requirement for contention

Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl championship teams all had one or two DTs drafted at the top of the 1st round.

This started with Bob Lilly and then Randy White and eventually Russel Maryland.. They also managed to trade for DTs that were formerly top 5 draft picks like John Dutton and Tony Casillas.

On a sidenote, the same was also true at the RB position.

Calvin Hill, Duane Thomas, Tony Dorsett and Emmitt Smith....all 1st round picks that were league leaders in rushing yards.

Javonte Williams was three picks removed from teh 1st round.....but I'll take it.

So, at the very least, they look like Cowboys contenders traditionally look like.

Now, if they can just win two in a row...

Your QB is a Choke Artist. Nothing else matters.

I don't know how I'd evaluate the Cowboys moves, because they seem like moves that are more likely to pay dividends in the next couple of years than they are to really pay off this year, so I look at them as TBD next year.

I do know that the only teams who currently really seem to understand how to best use the draft are the Rams and Eagles. And the Cowboys just copied them, which is at least a good start.
