NFL General News

I remember watching this game at home on tv... Pats had lost a close one in Barfalo the week before to halt their season-opening 5-game winning streak... They gave up 2 4th-quarter TDs (the second was the Tarkenton run shown) but scored the game-winning TD on the Last Play Of The Game! Unfortunately, TE Bob Windsor, who caught Plunkett's pass & powered into the EZ, broke his leg on the play & missed the rest of the season... Injuries really killed the offense that year as they stumbled to a 1-6 finish, including 3 straight heart-breakers at home to the Billdos, Brownies & Jete, immediately after this win... ☹️😢😫

These deals are bad enough when they are for quarterbacks. When they're for other positions, they're insane:

Hutchinson's $45 million average salary trails only the Green Bay Packers' Micah Parsons ($46.5 million) among non-quarterbacks in the NFL. And the guarantee is the highest among non-QBs, according to Roster Management System.

Hutchinson, 25, is a cornerstone of the Lions' defense, already establishing himself as one of the top pass rushers in the NFL. He has been able to return to his dominant form in 2025 after his 2024 season was cut short by a fractured tibia and fibula suffered in Week 6...
