Reporters at the team’s practice at the Greenbrier in West Virginia said Gardner-Johnson went down while defending wide receiver John Metchie during a drill. Gardner-Johnson stayed down while being examined for an apparent leg injury.
Teammates circled around Gardner-Johnson and took knees while a cart was brought onto the field to take him inside. Those at the practice noted that Gardner-Johnson did not appear to be able to put weight on the injured leg....
Broncos defensive lineman Matt Henningsen may be out for the season.
Henningsen suffered an Achilles injury during the team’s joint practice Thursday with the 49ers, and the team fears it will end his season, according to Mike Klis of 9 News.
A final diagnosis won’t be made until Henningsen gets an MRI, but athletic trainers can usually diagnose an Achilles tear with a high degree of accuracy just by feeling the player’s ankle...
Colts cornerback Justin Walley, a projected starter as a rookie third-round draft pick, is out for the season with a torn ACL.
Walley suffered the injury on Tuesday in a joint practice with the Ravens, and on Thursday Colts head coach Shane Steichen confirmed that the injury is season-ending.
“Huge blow,” Steichen said. “I think he was having a hell of a camp. His man coverage skills were great, he was making a ton of plays in practice too before it happened.”...
Lions safety Morice Norris was transported off the field in an ambulance, prompting the Lions and Falcons to agree to suspend the rest of Friday night’s preseason game.
Falcons running back Nathan Carter ran for 8 yards on the first play of the fourth quarter, and Norris went low to make the tackle. Carter’s knee appeared to hit Norris in the head. Norris appeared to be knocked out on the hit.
Medical personnel immediately got a backboard and a cart onto the field and began working on Norris before an ambulance drove to midfield...
Rondale Moore can’t catch a break.
Moore, who didn’t play last season with a knee injury, was injured with 10:30 remaining in the second quarter of Saturday’s preseason game against Houston. He returned a Tommy Townsend punt 2 yards before Texans linebacker Jamal Hill tackled him along the sideline.
Moore did not get up.
He required a cart to get off the field, unable to put any weight on his left leg...
