I’m super thankful that despite having a dozen or so combat veterans in my family, including cousins, my older brother, all my uncles on my dads side, my dad, and grandfather, plus a couple friends… they all made it home alive. I know I’ll never fully understand what they went through, I know they all lost friends out there.. and I’m forever grateful to them for making the ultimate sacrifice for us. RIP

My dad did 28 years in the Army and Air Force. My sister did 4 years in the Air Force, my nephew just did 20 in the Navy. I had 8 uncles who fought in WWII and 1 died.
