I agree with the Canadian coach on this. Leagues/tournaments are turning overtimes into abominations, and the NHL and Olympic hockey have been no different. 3-on-3 overtime is terrible even in the regular season. For a tournament/playoff, it's complete horseshit. And the coach did note that he was not using it as an excuse for the loss, and that his team had won a game under that format.
But, given that his team just lost the gold medal to the USA, in that overtime format, this was not the time to talk about it:
