Humility

[Dingleberry]

Humility is such an important Christ-like virtue preached throughout Scriptures.

One of my favorite examples of proper humility comes from Peter. Regarded as the closest apostle to Jesus, he could have been obnoxiously arrogant. A superstar.


As Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him
and fell down at his feet and worshipped him.

But Peter lifted him up, saying,
"Stand up, I myself am also a man."

- Acts 10:25-26

Peter demonstrated that ALL praise and glory belong to Jesus. Think of all the arrogant d-bag elites we have in our society. Their downfall will be fugly.

We are incapable of not sinning thanks to your great great great grandparents. People mistakenly (and ignorantly) like to claim Christians are self-righteous and think they are better than non Christians. What a crock of shit.

True Christians KNOW they aren't any better and need God's mercy and grace for salvation. If you don't think you are the worst sinner you know, you are deluding yourself.

A Christian will...

1. DO everything to eliminate WILLFUL (premeditated) sin from our lives. Willful sin is as good as giving God the middle finger. Not good.

2. Repent of any and all sins often. Talk to God (not a pedo in a collar) and confess. Repent is a vow to change 180 degrees...which is why #1 above is so dangerous. Breaking a vow to God? Bad bad bad idea.


And I THINK it is self evident, but for the record, my "I'm smarter and better than all of you" schtick here is meant for fun in Dingleberry character. It should never be taken seriously. I am a ball breaker by nature.

As Pastor Joby likes to say as you grow closer to god. You sin less and feel more guilty when you do sin.

That's my go to saying for that too. When you've sinning less and feeling more guilty about it, you are in the safest place possible. Close to God.
